The fifth annual "Mathematics Across the Curriculum" Summer Institute for faculty from high schools, community colleges and four-year colleges and universities will be held August 17-20, 2004.

MISSION:  To promote and facilitate the development of projects that engage faculty, staff, and/or students in exploring the nature and utility of mathematics in a broad range of human endeavors.

Participants are encouraged to attend in interdisciplinary teams.  We invite any teacher to attend who desires to make the mathematical or quantitative dimensions of their discipline more explicit.  Participants also may choose to create new courses that combine mathematics or quantitative reasoning and other disciplines.

The institute will feature workshops given by experienced MAC faculty from Edmonds Community College and other colleges around the state and resource faculty from Dartmouth College and other colleges around the nation.  The institute also will provide the needed time and assistance for faculty to create projects and assessments for their classroom.  The institute will be held at the wonderful Sleeping Lady Retreat Center just outside of Leavenworth, WA.  The registration fee is $100 and  includes food and lodging.  Registration is on a first-come first-serve basis, so register soon!

Join us for a productive and enjoyable conference!
